Herbärds

Oi! Punk since 1982 – Stuttgart

After 17 years away from the stage, the Herbärds returned live in 2017 as part of the book presentation and exhibition ‘Wie der Punk nach Stuttgart kam’ (How punk came to Stuttgart), have been performing regularly on stage again since then and have recorded two new albums. New album ‘alte Straßenköter’ from September 2023 on Sunny Bastards Records.

The Herbärds emerged in 1982 from the band Total Kaputt, founded in 1979 by guitarist Oimel, making them one of the first German Oi/Punk bands. The sound is old school punk/street punk with mostly German lyrics that deal with everyday and socially critical topics such as inclusion.

Having fun with music and concerts has always been the main focus.
The long break was caused by singer Tek’s serious motorbike accident in which he lost a leg.

The band clearly distances itself from the right-wing scene and wants nothing to do with it!

The Herbärds have played at various festivals in recent years, including Punk & Disorderly in Berlin and Umsonst und Draußen in Stuttgart. At many club concerts in Germany and Switzerland, they have shared the stage with bands such as Cockney Rejects, UK Subs, Sham 69, Cock Sparrer, Los Fastidios, Normahl and many more.
In 2019, the Herbärds wrote the new official anthem for the Stuttgart Rebels ice hockey team.
